TImbre Rock & Roots 2011

Who ever that got the chance to Timbre Rock & Roots 2011 at Marina Promenade, Singapore had the best Friday and Saturday night ever! The line-ups for Friday you got the legendary Bob Dylan, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Toots & The Maytals and for Saturday you got Imogen Heap, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, John Legend. Don’t believe it? I was thankful enough to experience the amazingness of the event on Saturday, 16 April 2011.
I arrived when the crowds were waiting for Imogen Heap’s performance until her bubbly and friendly greetings made a smile on their faces. The crowds were cheering crazily for her haunting voice when she starts to sing her famous songs like Hide and Seek, Goodnight and Go, and of course, Frou Frou’s Let Go. Breathtaking how she experiment sounds and instruments on the stage, accompanied by her talented percussionist, which I even lost number of how many instruments he played!
Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue offers a soulful, funky and energetic beat that made people dances happily with their groups or partners to songs like Suburbia and On Your Way Down, like they don’t care whose watching. Sexy chocolate that is good with trumpets made the crowds goes hot and cold all over!
The night started to get even more exciting when John Legend sings Adele’s Rolling in the Deep as the opening! And slowly it gets even steamier when John’s crispy voice sings Used To Love U, Cross The Line, We Just Don’t Care, Save Room with his hips goes round teasing the crowds. Notices how he made couples started to slow dance and holding each other tightly when he played on his piano singing songs like Wake Up Everybody, Good Morning and Ordinary People. John….. You are a Legend!
Let's just hope the next line-ups will be even more crazier! * Finger crossed
